Brookhouse Mill Afon Clwyd

A lovely horseshoe walk in the Vale of Clwyd. Flat and easy with great views of the vale and the Clwydian range, can be boggy near the end depending upon the recent weather, today it was dry. Starting out at Brookhouse Mill, following country lanes and footpaths for the first third, and then walking along the Afon CLwyd for the bulk of the walk.

Bryn Beddau Clocaenog

A circular walk in the Clocaenog forest, easy going along forest tracks, with a section of lane and road at the end. There is a small car park at the start of the walk. We hoped to find Bryn Beddau stone circle, but did not find it (we will have to try again!), we did find the Cairn that is on the OS maps. A nice forest walk.

Llanfor

A circular walk through beautiful countryside near Bala. Starting at the Gorwelion café and walking to the village of Llanfor, then going through farmland and hills slowly ascending steadily upwards. You can see we made a couple of mistakes by the map and had to back track, some of the first half of the walk requires eagle eyes to spot the track and styles etc. Great views of Bala and the surrounding hills on the return leg, that was on better defined paths and lanes, finishing with a lovely walk though parkland before heading back to the café car park.

Coed Y Brenin

Coed Y Brenin forest North Wales, a nice walk at just under 7 miles on decent forest tracks. There are a lot of mountain bikes on half this route (we did not realise it was a mountain bike center!), bikes aside a really nice walk. Starting at the visitor center car park the fist of half of the walk is along Llyn Eden (River Eden) and it is beautiful, after the river a steep ascent though woods then back on forest tracks for the return leg. There are great views and a lot of bird life, we saw two jays!

Llyn Brenig Reversed

Llyn Brenig Reservoir walked in the opposite direction to normal, we finished at the dam wall instead of starting that way. A great walk at just under 10 miles, very easy going on good tracks and paths. Stunning countryside views and views across the reservoir. We do this often but posting it again as previous posts were recorded on MyTracks with KML file, this time done with a Garmin so GPX file available.
