Llanddwyn Island

An easy walk in south west Anglesey, good forest tracks with stunning sea and Snowdonia views near the end, in the Newborough Warren National Nature Reserve. At just over 6 miles the walk is easy as fairly flat. Starting at the car park you follow the forest tracks going around the forest in a horseshoe, near the end you hit the beach and head out onto a peninsula called Llanddwyn Island (Ynys Llanddwyn). Great Snowdonia vistas and a historic site – The church of St. Dwynwen (the Welsh patron saint of lovers), after this you head back to the forest for the last section of the walk. This is a shorter version of the walk posted as Newborough Forest in the menu under the Gwynedd walks.

An easy horseshoe walk around Moel Goedog near Harlech. Parking in a layby then following a clear route around Moel Goedog, walk just over 5.1 miles but could be extended if you go up to the lake, today was sideways rain with gales, so this is walk we will do again in nicer conditions. Llanfor

A circular walk through beautiful countryside near Bala. Starting at the Gorwelion café and walking to the village of Llanfor, then going through farmland and hills slowly ascending steadily upwards. You can see we made a couple of mistakes by the map and had to back track, some of the first half of the walk requires eagle eyes to spot the track and styles etc. Great views of Bala and the surrounding hills on the return leg, that was on better defined paths and lanes, finishing with a lovely walk though parkland before heading back to the café car park.

Park and start the Walk at the free car park/layby: 52.91503, -3.59446 (or use the main pay car park in Bala)

Total distance: 7.4 Miles
